How awesome our God is! Our loving heavenly Father rescues us from His righteous anger against our outright rebellion against Him (whether we were shaking our fists at Him in anger or completely ignoring Him). He does this by sending His own blameless son to take our full punishment upon himself in his death on a cross. Through the resurrection of His Son, He also gave us new spiritual life. He places these believers in new families who share the same faith called the church. He provides us with the grace needed to sacrificially love one another in the same way that He has loved us. Our God then equips His children with different, diverse spiritual gifts so that His church is dependent upon one another in the same way that our different body parts are dependent upon one another for life. So in the church, nobody has all the gifts God gives and nobody has none of the gifts and nobody can brag about our gifts, BECAUSE, they are gifts. So who does all the praise go to? Let’s ask Peter:
If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (Pet 4:11)
So NSC family:
- How has God graciously gifted you?
- Are you using the gifts God has given you in the strength that He provides?
- Is your ministry for the church a dutiful obligation or a blood-bought joy in light of what Christ has done for you?
