The sight on the shores of the Red Sea, must have been something to behold.  Scholars estimate the number of those coming through the sea, may have been over 2 million people.  There they stood, looking back upon The Red Sea, a sea that had parted for them to walk through safely, while swallowing up the Egyptian army that had been pursuing them.  How could they do anything else but break out into song in Exodus 15 declaring “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.  The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him.”

If we flip ahead many pages, we come to Revelation 15 where again we’re told there’s a crowd before a sea, a sea of glass.  The crowd again breaking into worship, singing the song of Moses: “great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty!…..for you alone are holy.  All nations will come and worship you.”

Worship breaking out, as the throngs reflect on the God who has brought them through the waters of death, safely to the other side.  To safety in the eternal presence of God, the very thing the exodus looked forward to.  All true because the tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive!

This morning NSC, as we reflect back on Easter weekend, I pray we’ll marvel at the truth of the resurrection, the very basis for our hope and meaning in life.  That God has triumphed gloriously, that all nations will worship Him, that He will reign forever and ever!!  May this truth have you break out in worship and song this week, as we delight in the God who has saved us!!
