A People Oriented to Christ
The last few verses of the book of James contain wisdom for Christians experiencing illness and instructions for living together in community. Illness and suffering are not to be understood as punishment for specific sins, but rather as something that shows us our reliance on God. In the midst of sickness, is our hope in medicine, or do we express our faith in prayer, knowing that Jesus has already taken the first step for our ultimate good? And how does our faith affect the way we live together in community?
